heiland.com, MSD Tiergesundheit and Vetoquinol launch joint logistics project
Logistik-Projekt.jpg

In May 2019, Vetoquinol, MSD Tiergesundheit and heiland.com started a new logistics project together: since then, customers have been sent products that they order simultaneously from both manufacturers via the heiland.com platform in a joint package. This initiative offers benefits for both customers and the environment. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the joint logistics partner Nextpharma.

The customer in focus

Which (service) features offer real added value for customers? A question that both MSD Animal Health and Vetoquinol ask themselves again and again. The online platform heiland.com was born out of this question. The aim is to optimize the ordering process for veterinarians.

Orders via heiland.com offer significant time savings compared to ordering directly from the individual manufacturers. Since 21 suppliers of veterinary products are represented on the platform, all orders are recorded via a website with just a few clicks.

The four project partners are now going one step further. In addition to a joint ordering process on the platform, the products are also delivered jointly. Shipping in one delivery reduces the number of interruptions in everyday practice due to parcel acceptance and thus leads to further time savings. In addition to saving packaging waste, the number of delivery trips required is also reduced, which means that the project also contributes to sustainability in parcel shipping.

Customers of MSD and Vetoquinol have further advantages. Due to a common postage free limit of 50€, the customer does not pay any shipping fees in most cases. In any case, he is spared double fees. The joint delivery does not affect the delivery time. In addition, the joint deliveries are always sent temperature-controlled. If a customer does not want a joint shipping despite the clear advantages, this decision is also up to him. As with all orders via the heiland.com platform, the customer receives their individual manufacturer conditions.

This offer was well received by customers in the first few weeks. Therefore, the partners involved so far are already thinking at this early stage of expanding the joint logistics with other veterinary medicine companies. Especially in the pilot phase, which will run until the end of 2019, everyone involved is looking forward to feedback on the project.
